I think the number of channels that you can watch for free online are limited. If it isn't limited, then it might be just a replay. However, there are internet service providers which provide their subscribers with unlimited satellite TV channels.

I've used Hulu for years and never gone wrong as far as watching television on the internet. Though it's gotten pretty big in recent years and now they offer a premium service you have to pay for. I believe you can still watch some shows for free, but if you're looking to watch live events then you're out of luck.

A lot of channels are now offering live streaming on their site. Also, YouTube has been quite popular with simulcasting.

There are so many live streaming options out there if you know where to look. Most Sunday night NFL games can be seen on verizon phones for free. There are also those free streaming websites out there, but who knows how long before the feds catch up to them.

You can do that but that's not legal. World economy surfers a lot due to piracy, we should do our bit against piracy by not supporting it.

Verizon actually sponsors the NFL service. It's run through the NFL mobile app and it's offered exclusively to those customers so that's entirely legal. I agree with using completely legal channels to watch things though.

you have to buy software if you want to watch satelite tv on internet, you can watch more than 4000 chanels..

You're still paying for the service which I don't think is the intention of the thread creator. Though that's a lot of money on top of renting the dish. I'm sure there is something cheaper out there.
